When it comes to Lash Extension, there are commonly misunderstanding and misconceptions. This article will help you distinguish the difference and level of skill of an artist based on the ways lash extensions are placed.
Let’s take a closer look at the lash line!
Firstly, did these two fans of lash extensions grab your attention?
The above picture (pic1) is picture of my work (3-4 weeks fill-in).
The below picture (pic2) is the lash of a new client who just got her lash done somewhere, after 2 weeks.
Let’s look more closely!
There are 3 factors that make the two fans look and feel differently (Also: afftect the retention 😳)
1. The base of the fan in pic 1 is smaller approximately 1/3 of the fan in pic 2.
fan in pic2 will become twisting around when client’s natural lash grows out because of a heavy base. Also, thick base will scratch client’s eyelid sometimes making them feel uncomfortable and may cause irritation or swelling eyelid.
2. Structure of the fan in pic 1 is more balanced, well structured, even on both side.
fan in pic 2 is not open enough, off-balance.
3. Direction of the fan: fan in pic 1 is placed in center, it will eliminate twisting when client’s natural lash grows out
fan in pic 2 tends to bend to the left.
I bet you probably didn’t know what went wrong with the extensions when they made you feel itchy or even hurt your eyelids and ended up falling out after short time 🤷🏼♀️🤷🏾♀️.
That is why I gave you such details to look at the difference between two fans.
Now guess which one feels more comfortable on your eyelid – the most delicate area of the face ?
More importantly, lash extensions also need to stay beautiful for a long time (ideally 3-4weeks) to be compatible with clients who have their hands full ☺️.
In conclusion, in terms of skill, the three factors above of how extensions are placed directly affect how long they will last on client’s natural eyelash. Retention is key, right?
